The image above is a Dutch flag with a German flag, and it says in Dutch “a little bit this” and in German “a little bit that.” Ive been busy and everywhere lately in both theetherlands and Germany for work and during our pastime, and also Ive been busy getting prepared for our upcoming trip to America. We look forward to sharing all about that upcoming trip because We especially have a few fun things planned to share about here, and We ought to have plenty of time to edit photos and share before we all ring in 2010.Lately it appears that, while Im out and about, We have captured some interesting and random things, and Id love to share those here First, here are a few things We spied while shopping lately in both theetherlands and Germany you can also click the image to view it larger, in aew window: First image, top, some wooden shoes for sale at a market. Weeeded to stock up on wooden shoes to bring to friends and family in America who dont yet have their own pair. A few love the idea of hanging them on the fence in their backyard for use as a hanging planter. Click here to see a wonderful image exampleSecond image from the top are some skunk purses , seen at Albert Cuyp Market in Amsterdam. We hope they areot real skunk. . . In addition, We dont know if We would ever want to carry about with me a skunk purse, fake or real.Third image areew York Yankees baseball logos on PSP cases at a Dutch electronics store. You mayotice Yankees logos often here on hats and jackets, butever Red Sox or Dodgers.othing against it, but We guess its more fashionable. . .And last, the bottom image, at Karstadt in Germany there was a selection of American foods with common import prices costs converted to current U.S. dollar: One can of Pam cooking spray = $9.70; Crisco in a 16 oz can = $7.15; Off-brand pancake syrup, 24 oz = $9.00; Hersheys chocolate syrup = $8.60; Poptarts, per box = $9.30; Campbells Clam Chowder, per can = $5.70. Thankfully We can live without these itemsAnd thisext collage below shows some sights We spied from the comfort of the car you can click the image to see it larger, in aew window: First image, top left, is a home in theetherlands in a town called Vriezenveen. They have here a collection of garden gnomes Dutch: tuinkabouters here with some other garden decor. It just so happened we were driving down the wrong road when we passed this, so we made a u-turn to drive by again. . . And again. On the third drive past, there was another car parkedearby where another woman was taking a photo of the same, so We decided we should stop too There is a windmill also in Vriezenveen, the Leemansmolen. Click here for the location.Second photo in the above, top right, isear Hengelo in theetherlands. They are riding on their scootmobielen, with beautiful scenery around them on a gorgeous early autumn day. We joked about how one day if We have one, We would like mine to be an opgepimpte scootmobiel English: pimped-out mobility scooter, like those one seen here or here.Third photo in the above, bottom left, is found in Hengelo. Its seen at a parking garage by an Albert Heijn, and it really caught our eye. Looks sharp.Fourth photo in the above, bottom right, was in Bad Bentheim, Germany. The irony of it all, they are Hollandia beer cans, and as far as We can recall there waso other litter to be seen anywhereear the castle Burg Bentheim. At leastot where We was looking. We sawothing “Bad” in Bad Bentheim but this.More to come soon. Have a great weekend, everyoneClick here to return to the main page.
